Watching an account in the background means re-checking it every few hours whether you open the app or not, around the clock. Pro is what keeps that running — no ads, no data resale, nothing sold on the side.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Both plans renew automatically until you cancel — on iPhone from Settings › Subscriptions, on the web from your account. Either way you keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for.

How far back does a list go?
Up to 1,000 entries. Instagram no longer returns these lists in any order that means time, so SpyFollr watches the pages it can see and marks who is new to them; walking a list of 100,000 on every check would cost real money to tell you the same thing.
Why not live?
Instagram lists do not change that fast in practice. Re-checking every few hours keeps alerts timely without pretending to be real-time.
Is there a lifetime plan?
