Terms of Use

Last updated: 2 October 2026

These terms govern your use of spyfollr.com and the SpyFollr mobile applications. Using the service means you accept them. If you do not, please do not use it.

1. What the service does

SpyFollr reads information that Instagram publishes publicly about a public account — its follower and following lists, which since 9 September 2026 Instagram returns in no fixed order, its public profile details, and its live stories — and presents that information in a readable order, comparing each check against your previous one.

That is the whole of it. SpyFollr does not access private accounts, does not sign in to Instagram, and does not act on anyone's behalf.

2. What you may not use it for

Some of these exist because the law requires them and some because we are not willing to be part of it. Both kinds are binding.

  • Harassing, stalking, intimidating or monitoring a private individual, including a current or former partner, and including anyone who has asked you to stop.
  • Any surveillance of a person that you have no lawful basis to carry out, or that breaches a court order, a restraining order or an employment or tenancy relationship.
  • Attempting to reach data from a private account, by any means, including trying to obtain someone's credentials.
  • Automated or bulk extraction of the service — scraping our pages, scripting the interface, or reselling output as your own data feed.
  • Republishing someone's photographs, videos or stories as if they were yours. What you view for yourself and what you publish are different things, and copyright applies to the second.
  • Anything unlawful where you are, or anything that breaches Instagram's own terms.

3. What we can and cannot promise about the data

  • The order is not a promise. Since 9 September 2026 Instagram returns these lists in no fixed order — the same page comes back with different accounts minutes apart. What you see at the top is therefore our own reading of what changed, not Instagram’s order, and anything new to it is dated the day we first saw it rather than the day it happened.
  • The dates are not ours to give either. Instagram publishes no follow timestamps. We can tell you what changed between two of your own checks and when those checks happened. We cannot tell you the clock time of a follow that happened before you started looking, and we will not invent one.
  • The data is live at the moment it is read and can be stale by the time you read it. Accounts change, go private, get renamed and get deleted.
  • Availability depends in part on a third-party data provider and on Instagram itself. Lookups can fail, and rate limits apply.

4. Accounts

An account is optional for single lookups and required for a watch list. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping access to the email address attached to it. Do not share an account; do not create one on someone else's behalf.

You must be at least 16, or the age of digital consent where you live if that is higher.

5. Subscriptions and payment

Four checks a day are free and reset at midnight where you are. Pro lifts that limit and adds the part that works while you are not looking: watching accounts in the background and telling you when a list moves. A Pro watch list holds up to 10 accounts, each re-checked every few hours, and heavy automated use is capped so that one account cannot exhaust the service for everyone else.

  • Two plans, weekly and three-monthly. On iOS, subscriptions are sold by Apple. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase, renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and is managed in Settings under your Apple ID, then Subscriptions. Apple's refund policy applies and we cannot refund an Apple purchase ourselves.
  • On the web, subscriptions are sold through our payment processor, which acts as merchant of record. Cancel at any time from your account; access continues to the end of the paid period.
  • Prices can change. An increase never applies to a period you have already paid for, and we will tell you before it takes effect.

6. Suspension and termination

You can stop using SpyFollr and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches section 2, that abuses the service technically, or that we are legally required to close. Where the reason allows it, we will say what it was.

7. Intellectual property

The SpyFollr name, site, apps and design are ours. The content shown through the service — profile pictures, stories, usernames, posts — belongs to the people who published it, and nothing here grants you a licence to it.

SpyFollr is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc. Instagram is a trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc.

8. Disclaimer and liability

The service is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, that every lookup will succeed, or that the data will be complete — some of that depends on Instagram and on a third-party provider, and neither is under our control.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death, personal injury or fraud.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top changes with them, and material changes are announced rather than slipped in. Continuing to use the service after a change means accepting it.
